What You Need to Know About Sore Feet

The aching misery of Sore feet affects millions of people, and making simple daily actions like standing, walking working, and running a miserable experience because of their pain and discomfort.

Causes: The most frequent cause of heel or arch pain is plantar fasciitis. This is inflammation of the plantar fascia, the tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. A symptom is sharp pain in the arch when getting up in the morning or after prolonged inactivity. Wearing shoes with little arch or heel support, too much physical activity, going barefoot and being overweight all can contribute to the condition.

The pain can also start after you've been standing for a long time or taking a long walk. Feet can ache from day and night. The pain can be distracting from work and family time, causing people to stop doing some of the activities they love. One of the first serious symptoms besides sharp pain is what feels like a burning or hot foot, and this is usually indicative of a serious foot pain problem.

So what can I do about my foot pain? To treat sore feet, go to your local pharmacy or grocery store to purchase shoe inserts, like Doctor Scholl's. These are designed to distribute the weight on your feet evenly. If the pain persists, go to a podiatrist, or a doctor who specializes in feet. The podiatrist may give you a short of cortisone, which will ease the pain. He or she may also suggest creating custom orthotic inserts for your shoes that are specially fitted to your feet. Yet another recommendation may be to have prescribed medication to relieve severe pain to help with sore muscle treatment.

Prevention: Treat your feet good and they will probably be good to you. Buy and wear shoes that are not only comfortable but ones that have arch support and cushioning. If the shoes are hard to walk on or provide little cushioning, buy some inserts like Doctor Scholl's. If you are overweight you are asking for foot pain.
